A page out of one of the artists numerous sketch pads. Basset found enjoyment in the creation of imaginative themes which would later be the foundation for his many studio pieces. The artist continued to paint various subject matter in order to create streams of revenue, but his heart always yearned to create more grandiose compositions in the studio, that which painting landsacpes and portraits "ala prima" could not afford him.
